12–5pm | Artbook Pop-Up Coinciding with the 1pm Panel Discussion, Mexican independent publisher Gato Negro takes over the Davis Courtyard for an afternoon of talks, readings, book launches, music and more. 1pm | Panel Discussion: Disobedient Printers: Radical Publishing in México In conjunction with South of No North: Gato Negro Ediciones at the Fowler and Regeneración: Three Generations of Revolutionary Ideology at the Vincent Price Museum, the Fowler will host a panel on contemporary radical publishing in México. Participants include León Muñoz Santini, founder of Gato Negro Ediciones, and Diego Flores Magón, director of La Casa de El Hijo del Ahuizote. Moderated by Sebastian Clough, exhibition curator and Fowler Director of Exhibitions.
Related Exhibition South of No North: Gato Negro Ediciones builds on the legacy of radical independent publishing in Mexico. Led by activist designer León Muñoz Santini, Gato Negro Ediciones prints limited-run risograph editions across genres including art, photography, poetry, political discourse—and new editions of classic texts of resistance.
