Fowler Out Loud: Singing the Body Electric

2019 is the bicentennial of Walt Whitman, America’s first poet of democracy. To celebrate, join poets and UCLA faculty members, Drs. Amber West and Susannah Rodriguez Drissi, for Singing The Body Electric, a lively evening of original poetry, puppetry, and music by diverse Los Angeles artists including puppeteer Audrey Densmore and musical duo The Singer & The Songwriter, honoring the legacy of the father of American poetry. Singing The Body Electric is part of Whitmania, the west coast’s largest celebration of Walt’s 200th birthday (whitmania.ucla.edu).

Fowler Out Loud is an evening concert series that invites UCLA students from various disciplines to perform at the Museum. Support for Fowler Out Loud comes from the UCLA Office of Residential Life.
