Many of our donors support the Fowler Museum through planned gifts that provide them with personal rewards and financial benefits. Did you know?
An endowment provides a lasting legacy and ensures that the Fowler Museum will continue to be a strong and thriving organization for generations to come. Committed in perpetuity, it provides an annual disbursement of earned income to be used to support an area specifically designated by the donor. Donors have the satisfaction of knowing their gift helps the Fowler achieve greater fiscal independence, especially during difficult economic times.
[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”Charitable Gift Annuity “]A Charitable Gift Annuity is both a gift and a life income arrangement. Creating a charitable gift annuity generally allows you to claim an immediate income tax charitable deduction. A portion of each annuity payment is treated as a tax-free return of principal.[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”Bequest”]Bequests are gifts made by will or trust and are the most common form of planned giving. Whether you wish to provide general operating income or support a specific department or program at the Museum, your bequest expresses your lasting commitment to the Fowler Museum.[/lvca_panel][lvca_panel panel_title=”Gifts of Art”]In addition to outright gifts, the Fowler welcomes bequests and promised gifts of art. Indeed, the Museum’s vast collection of 150,000+ ethnographic works is comprised of donations from our many patrons, including 30,000 objects from the Sir Henry Wellcome Trust, which makes up the core of our esteemed African collection. Due to space constraints and redundancy issues, the Museum must give serious consideration before it can accept gifts of art. Potential gifts are reviewed by an acquisition committee that meets bi-annually.

Proceeds from the sale of property can be directed to an endowment, a donor-specified project or acquisition, or used under the discretion of the director or a named staff member. Whether you wish to pledge your home to the Museum and continue to maintain residency, or sell your property outright, the Museum can help you make all of the necessary arrangements for a simple and straightforward transaction. The Museum also accepts other tangible goods for use onsite or to be sold to benefit programs.[/lvca_panel][/lvca_accordion]
