Garrett Solyom—Land of the Hornbill, Tiger, and Naga: The Art Of Lampung, Indonesia

Starting this fall the Fowler in Focus gallery inside Intersections will feature new gifts made to the Museum in honor of its 50th anniversary. The first of these rotations features textiles from Asia and the Pacific, including beautiful examples from Japan and Indonesia. In conjunction with this display, Garrett Solyom, noted expert on Southeast Asian textiles, will illuminate the arts of Lampung, a province of Indonesia located in southern Sumatra.

Co-sponsored by the Fowler Textile Council in honor of John Summerfield and the late Anne Summerfield. Additional support provided by the Textile Museum Associates of Southern California, Inc.
