Contemporary Council

The Fowler Contemporary Council brings together individuals keenly interested in learning about and building a sense of community around international contemporary art, with an emphasis on Africa and the Americas. Members are afforded unique opportunities to view important private and corporate collections and meet curators, scholars, artists and other collectors.  Membership dues will directly support the Fowler’s contemporary art projects and will build a fund for the acquisition of works of art for the Museum’s collections.

Benefits of the Fowler Contemporary Council Membership include:

  • A series of gatherings or seminars to gain valuable knowledge about emerging artists at the “frontiers” of the international art market
  • Curator-led tours of contemporary art exhibitions at the Fowler Museum and at other museums, as well as special “behind the scenes” opportunities
  • All the benefits of Patron Museum Membership ($500), including all Fowler publications produced by the Museum during the membership year, invitations to exhibition receptions, priority seating at Fowler public programs, Museum Store discounts, and more
